Hornby R3098: 4-6-2 'Tornado' Peppercorn Class A1 Special Edition

Manufacturer's Description

In 1990 a group of like-minded people came together in a belief that they could construct, from new, a Peppercorn Class A1 Pacific locomotive. After a period of nearly 20 years the dream became a reality, when in 2008 locomotive number 60163 'Tornado' moved under its own power. In the relatively short period of time in which 'Tornado' has been in operation, the locomotive has built up an impressive fan base because wherever the locomotive goes huge crowds flock to see this marvel of determination and fortitude.

Since it entered traffic in 2008 'Tornado' has worn various liveries and the model appears wearing British Railways Brunswick Green with the 1956 'Ferret and Dartboard' British Railways logo. Etched nameplates are also provided for application to further enhance the overall appearance of the model.
